Mobile phone screen manufacturing mainly involves screen panel production, glass cover production, modular production, and quality inspection.
Screen Panel Production
Taking Tianma's Wuhan factory as an example, its TM17 production line covers the production of screens for mobile phones, IT displays, and automotive applications. The core process uses vapor deposition, where red, green, and blue organic light-emitting materials are deposited layer by layer onto a substrate in a vacuum environment to form a light-emitting layer. Simultaneously, it utilizes full DC drive + low blue light OLED device eye protection technology, shifting the peak position of harmful blue light in the OLED spectrum, combined with high-frequency PWM, DC dimming, and ultra-low reflection eye protection technology to achieve ambient light adaptive eye protection functions.
Glass Cover Production
Mobile phone glass covers are made from raw materials such as quartz sand and soda ash, which are melted and homogenized at high temperatures before being shaped. The production process for 3D glass covers is complex, encompassing engineering preparation, raw material cutting, precision carving, grinding and polishing, cleaning, hot bending, polishing and anti-reflection, testing, tempering and strengthening, UV transfer printing, coating, printing decoration, bonding and assembly, film protection, and packaging. Among these processes, the cover glass undergoes a low-temperature ion exchange process (in an alkaline salt solution at approximately 400℃) to replace sodium and potassium ions, forming a compressive stress layer that increases impact resistance by 5-10 times and bending strength by 3-5 times.
Modular Production: The module factory pursues a "four-high" standard: high precision, high quality, high yield, and high efficiency. During production, color cameras are used for color compensation to ensure good image quality even in low brightness, avoiding reddish or greenish tints at the edges, thereby improving visual comfort.
In the quality inspection process, the screen is photographed with high precision from multiple angles using AVT automatic inspection equipment. Combined with algorithm models, defects such as dead pixels and uneven brightness are automatically detected to ensure that each screen displays delicate image quality and uniform brightness, providing consumers with high-quality mobile phone screen products.
