Hey there! As a supplier of Screen for iPhone 12, I often get asked a bunch of questions about these screens, especially one that pops up quite a bit: Can the iPhone 12 screen be used underwater? Let's dive right into it and find out.
First off, Apple's iPhone 12 series comes with an IP68 rating. This means it's pretty well protected against dust and water. The IP68 standard indicates that the phone can withstand being submerged in water up to a certain depth and for a specific amount of time. For the iPhone 12, it can be submerged in up to 6 meters of water for about 30 minutes without suffering any major damage.
But when we talk about using the screen underwater, things get a bit more complicated. The touch - screen technology on the iPhone 12 relies on the electrical conductivity of your fingers. When you touch the screen, it detects the electrical charge from your skin and registers the touch. Water is also a conductor, and when the screen is underwater, the water can interfere with this electrical detection.
Imagine you're trying to use your iPhone 12 screen underwater. The water might cause false touches or make it difficult for the screen to accurately detect your actual touches. You might find that the screen is unresponsive or that it registers random taps and swipes. So, while the phone can survive underwater, using the screen effectively is a whole different story.
Now, let's talk about the screens we supply. Our Screen for iPhone 12 is designed to meet high - quality standards. We use the latest technology to ensure that the screen is durable and provides a great viewing experience. But even with our top - notch screens, the issue of using the screen underwater remains the same. The design of the touch - screen technology is optimized for normal, dry conditions.

It's important to note that while the iPhone 12 can handle being underwater to a certain extent, water damage is still a risk. Even if the phone is within the IP68 limits, there's always a chance that water could seep in and cause problems over time. And if you're using a third - party screen like ours, it's crucial to follow the installation instructions carefully to maintain the phone's water - resistance.
